Complete Streets to guide Boston city planning efforts
Focusing on revamping city planning, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh announced an environment and safety-focused design plan on Sept. 24 called Complete Streets that will soon take effect through an executive order. The program, established by former Boston Mayor Thomas Menino in 2009, was created in an effort to make the city more environmentally conscious with new technologies.

Complete Streets Athens launches county-wide initiative
Safe streets, whether they wind through a neighborhood or carry trucks and cars on their daily commutes, lead to a better community. That is the mantra behind a group of residents who are starting an effort to align Athens-Clarke County’s policies with state and national transportation standards. Complete Streets Athens launches its community-wide effort with the event “Streets are for People” from 6-8 p.m.
Dallas officials to get update on bike lanes, ‘complete streets’ efforts
The vast majority of Dallas’ small but growing network of on-street bike lanes is made up of shared lanes, stretches where bicyclists must share the same concrete as vehicles. City staffers, though, hope that several planned projects will dramatically increase the share of lanes that are primarily dedicated to bicyclists.
